Frank Sinatra Live

Francis Albert Sinatra was a singer and producer from America who was born in 1915. He dealt with the traditional pop and vocal jazz genre. Sinatra had a long and decorated career, dying in 1998 at the ripe age of 93.

The Live Concert

The Frank Sinatra concert started on 26th January 1980, happening at the MaracanĂ£ stadium in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. The concert’s title was ‘Frank Sinatra Live’ and was attended by about 175,000 people. The attendance made it one of the best-attended performances at the time.

Frank’s power and energy were two things that really got fans flowing. That, coupled with Brazilians’ love for a good carnival and the conducive nature of The Maracana made the Live Concert a big success.

Frank once had about 140 acts in 105 days.

Voice Problems

In the 80s, Frank had an unfortunate spell that saw him lose the power in his voice. He had already earned his spot in his fan’s hearts, however, and they continued attending his concerts in record numbers. As a gesture of gratitude, Frank dedicated most of the proceeds from these concerts to charity.

In 1983, he was among the receivers of the Kennedy Center Honors.
