The Paul McCartney World Tour was a concert tour done by Paul McCartney in 1989 and 1990 all over the world. It was the first world tour since the Wings Over World Tour in 1976. He also had a Wings UK tour in 1979.
The tour started on 26th September 1989 and ended on 29th July 1990. It was a nine-leg concert coming at the highlight of his album Flowers in the Dirt. The concerts was held in various continents in one, two or even three legs. In Europe, there were three legs, four legs in North America and only one leg in South America and Asia. The world tour had a total of 103 shows across the world. There were 48 shows in Europe, 47 in North America, 6 in Asia and 2 in South America.
Attendance
Fans who attended the concert were given a tour booklet which had 98 pages. The tour booklet had the profiles of every member of the band, a tour plan, the organization of the tour and an account of friends of the earth operation. The better part of this booklet had photographs that showed McCartney’s life and career.
McCartney’s band members helped in vocals, playing the guitar, keyboards, drums and also in percussion. The instruments played were the piano, Electric guitar, Acoustic guitar and also keyboards.

Songs that were played for the preparation of the concert were C Moon by McCartney, Crackin’ Up by McDaniel, Don’t Let the Sun Catch You Crying by Green, Matchbox by Perkins and Together which featured Paul McCartney, Linda McCartney, Stuart, and Wickens.
The world tour went through various countries which include England, Norway, Sweden, Germany, France, United States, Canada, Japan, Brazil, Italy, Switzerland and also the Netherlands. Some of the venues for the concert were Playhouse Theatre, Isstadion, Scandinavium, Festhalle, Palaeur, National Exhibition Center, and Wembley Arena among others.
The most remarkable show on the tour was the April 21, 1990 leg at the Maracana Stadium in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, which sold 184000 tickets.
