Tina Turner Break Every Rule World Tour

Break Every Rule Tour was a world concert tour that was characterized by huge attendance. The tour by American singer Tina Turner remains etched in the minds of many fans to date. It was meant to support Tina’s sixth album called Break Every Rule. The worldwide concert was sponsored by Box Office Records and Pepsi Cola and was held in 13 countries.

Format

The tour started on March 4th, 1987 and ended on March 30th 1988. It was among the top female concerts in those years and was the biggest tour in terms of attendance. It had an audience of more than 4,000,000 people.

The concert had a total of 218 shows. 91 were in Europe, 87 in North America, 12 in Asia, 11 in Oceania and 6 in South America. Tina had stated that it was less likely for another tour to take place for her next album so that she could give time to her movie career.

Tina’s act at the MaracanĂ£ stadium in Rio de Janeiro gave her a Guinness world record because of more than 180,000 fans in attendance. The tour began at Olympiahalle where she performed seven times.
